New Equipment Has Arrived

Today new equipment has arrived. Let me tell you a little bit about it. After owning a Sony A6000 I knew I wanted to stay with mirrorless. Also knew had a limited budget to work with so a 2019 model of whatever was not going to work. Here is the current setup.

Sony a7R II 42.2MP Full-frame Mirrorless Camera
Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 Full-Frame G Master Lens ( SEL2470GM)
Sony 50mm Full-frame E mount Fast Prime Lens ( SEL50F18F )
Neewer Mini TTL Speedlite Flash (NW320)

Needless to say I will be posting new photos real soon. In the meantime here is a little teaser of what is to come.

Shasta Dam Big Flow

Shasta Dam

On this day Shasta Dam was letting out 70,000 cfs (cubic feet per second) of water from Shasta Lake.  In the background you can see Mount Shasta at just over 14,000 feet elevation.

Wikipedia says:

Shasta Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam across the Sacramento River in Northern California in the United States.  At 602 feet (183 m) high, it is the eighth-tallest dam in the United States. Located at the north end of the Sacramento Valley, Shasta Dam creates Shasta Lake for long-term water storage, flood control, hydroelectricity and protection against the intrusion of saline water.  The largest reservoir in the state, Shasta Lake can hold about 4,500,000 acre feet.
